Being a mom is a lot like a balancing act. With work demands, school activities, meetings, appointments, house chores, and all the little surprises that pop up, it’s difficult to find a moment to breathe. Every day there’s that second when we seem to teeter precariously over the edge, but get pulled back just in time. That goes for what we eat, as well. We want to make sure we give our family the best food possible, but it also needs to be quick and convenient. Now, nothing can be more simple than delicious spring treats that everyone will love. And Nestlé makes it easy to come up with perfectly balanced dishes for any of your spring moments.
Found at Walmart, each of these ingredients from Nestlé embraces the fullness of the spring season with a touch of sweetness for the moments that matter. First, create new and delicious recipes with Nestlé Toll House. We picked up bags of Toll House Morsels in Semi-Sweet, Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate, and Dark Chocolate. Each variety will come in handy for so many of our spring treats.
Since we’re ready to Spring it On at Walmart, we also grabbed 32oz. Coffee-mate Liquid Creamer in both French Vanilla and Hazelnut. Lactose free and cholesterol free, it’s a perfect way to stir up the creamy goodness of French Vanilla or Hazelnut flavors for a smooth, sweet sip. These creamers are great in your morning cup of coffee before the hectic day begins, but I have another idea in mind! We also saw Toll House Refrigerated Cookie Dough in Blueberry Lemon and had to grab a bag for my recipe idea. Easy, convenient and delicious, the Toll House Refrigerated Cookie Dough in Strawberry Shortcake would be delicious and such a yummy way to start the season, too! These are fresh new flavors for Spring that we were so excited to try.
Now, I could have just placed the cookies on a baking sheet and that would have been delicious. But I wanted to put my own twist on a classic! We’re going to make Blueberry Lemon Donut Bites! Donut or doughnut? I really don’t know the difference. Are these a snack or breakfast treat? That’s a good question, too! I do know that these Blueberry Lemon Donut Bites could not be any simpler to make. Because who has time to spend a day in the kitchen when there are soccer practices, teacher meetings, grocery runs, bills to pay, vet appointments, doctor appointments, and all the things I’m forgetting.
Start with a tube of biscuit dough. Cut each biscuit in half and stretch or roll. I’m such a quick and convenient type of mom, though, that I don’t even own a rolling pin.
Open a package of Toll House Refrigerated Cookie Dough in Blueberry Lemon or Strawberry Shortcake and cut each pre-cut square in half. Place one half of the cookie in each stretched out half of biscuit dough. You could also add in a few extra Tollhouse Morsels. Then wrap, making sure the seams are pinched closed. Roll the dough in your hand just enough to form a circular shape.
Drop each ball into a pot of vegetable oil at 350 degrees.
Fry until the dough is golden brown. Then drain your Blueberry Lemon Donut Bites on a plate of paper towels.
Your Blueberry Lemon Donut Bites are almost ready but not quite. Because now comes time to make the glaze!
This is really simple, too. Two cups of powdered sugar to ¼ cup of Coffee-mate Liquid Creamer. I used the French Vanilla for this batch. Whisk it all together until smooth and add to a dipping cup. Yum!
So good, in fact, you may want to share. Though you certainly don’t have to. In case you do, however, these Easter Bunny Treat Bags are so simple to make. Simply take 2 strings of white twine and glue to the inside of the white bag. Cover with a piece of white paper to fully secure. Add large googly eyes, a cotton nose, and couple paper whiskers, then draw a happy bunny mouth. Fill with tissue paper and add a batch of Blueberry Lemon Donut Bites!
My kids absolutely loved these Blueberry Lemon Donut Bites! In fact, my 13 year old said they tasted kind of like blueberry pancakes. If you know my son, though, you would know how big of a compliment that is. He loves pancakes and he loves these bites. We’ll definitely be making more, next time with the Strawberry Shortcake cookie dough. Be sure to find more flavorful moments treat ideas on the Nestlé Pinterest page!
